Our competitors are fierce, but always friendly.
Christina Aimerito (Kiki)
Christina is a stay at home mom of 3 tiny humans, with a background in puppetry and education. She’s the host and creator of Girls’ Game Shelf as well as a member of This Game is Broken, comedy board game panel show. In her spare time she… oh wait… she has no spare time. Nevermind.
- Super hearing (It is a noisy world)
Beneeta is a Maryland native. She discovered modern board games in 2017 and hasn’t looked back since. Aside from gaming with friends and family, Beneeta is a huge foodie (especially spicy food that makes her cry), a lover of all things superhero related, and is an attorney in her free time. Board Game Accessories. All of them.
Fertessa is a budding game designer, and a new inductee into the hobby. A Georgia native, she grew up playing classics like Risk, Monopoly, and Yu-gi-oh. While she had run-ins with newer games like Betrayal and Catan, it wasn’t until 2 years ago, when she started her designing journey, that she fell into the hobby headfirst. She is currently working on her first game, Book of Villainy. Fertessa is a bit of an introvert, but always welcomes a friendly face and sitting down to play a game. You can find her at most of the Georgia gaming conventions, as well as strongly present online on Twitter, Facebook, and BGG. Don’t be afraid to say hi!
Strengths: Karaoke, dancing to Backstreet Boys, and being a dog whisperer.
Weakness: Saying no to free sweets, even ones I know aren’t good and I’ll regret later. That and math.
Melissa W. Bailey
Growing up in a quiet Virginia suburb, Melissa led a relatively uneventful life until the The Ancient One awoke from its long slumber and razed her community to the ground. Clinging to the smoldering remains of the only man she ever had and ever would love, she swore she would do anything in her power to hunt down The Ancient One and exact revenge. She will not rest until the head of the Ancient One marks the entrance to her new home and she wears armor fashioned from its hide. ( …what? Too dark?)

AnnaMaria is editor of the Girls Game Shelf website. When she’s not gaming or writing, you can find her reading, painting, or searching for the best food truck in Metro DC. She’s also a reviewer at Board Game Quest and the social media manager for Pencil First Games.

Theresa Castillo (Terry)
Theresa is a proud Planeteer and she says you can be one too, cuz saving the planet is the thing to do! She’s so committed she refuses bags when shopping and containers when eating out, and uses her Hydroflask even at a restaurant.
- Noseblindness while driving a SUV full of two toddlers, sweaty socks, dirty clothes, and a port-a-potty in the back
- Loose change on the floor (A penny saved is a penny earned!)
Sleepy yet over caffeinated, Savannah persists on her Bachelors of Psychology while proudly mothering a cat on the side. In the lulls between you can find her painting or trying very hard to DIY something that she found on the internet.
- Can make a salad out of ANYTHING
- Any crowd of more than four people
Michelle is a Polymath, Jill of all Trades, and all-around Geek. She is enthusiastic about heavy eurogames on her personal blog The Tabletop Crier, she touts the title Cruel Quizmistress of a series of boardgame emoji quizzes on Twitter called “What Did Bunny Play?”, and she is an amateur photographer of food, travel, and boardgames on Instagram.
Extreme ability to ask “Why?” at least 5 times when faced with new information, and no poker face.
Several cuts and bruises from haphazardly moving about the universe — or living room — and no poker face.
Paula is an actress and improviser from North Carolina (but has lived in LA long enough to possibly call herself an Angeleno? When does that title kick in, exactly?) She makes sketch comedy about board games in her series “Things Get Dicey“, hosts a show about Doctor Who for Fan Theory TV, produces and acts in the audio drama “Deck the Halls (with Matrimony)” for Sassquach Radio, streams video games on Twitch and sometimes she even remembers to eat and sleep!
Strengths: Looking deceptively innocent
Weaknesses: Dice. Loves to roll them, hates the results.
Kaitlin is a SoCal native who plays make believe for a living. When she’s not working you can find her at the local pub trivia, playing with her niece and nephew, or looking at dog videos on the internet. You can catch her online in the upcoming web series Pillow Talk, or the existing web series, Post Shift.

Among being an actor, writer, baker, and educator, Iselle is mostly just a troublemaker. She’s a graduate of USC, and has studied at UCB and Groundlings. Iselle is a counterculture enthusiast who suffers from a crippling fear of puppets (sorry Kiki). You can catch her on YouTube as Lisbeth in BAMF Girls Club and on Twitter at @iselle.

Born and raised in LA. Lover of tortillas and everything Mexican-including my husband. I made my parents proud by going to college, and then I became a freelance actress and teacher. I teach all over southern California and have an impeccable driving record which is a miracle for the miles I have put in. Wife to 1, sister to 5, aunt to 15. Words used to describe me: loca and carbona.
- Embarrassing self and others around me.
- Salty treats like french fries or potato chips
Monique woke up one day and realized she was going to have to live the rest of her life in the wrong dimension. When she sleeps in this world, she exists in others, using her dreams to jump through interdimensional portals and spacetime to go on a multitude of quests, all while trying to find a way home.
At least this world has board games, Legos, Islay Scotch, and Studio Ghibli.
Strengths: A pun or a song reference for just about anything.
Weakness: Chewy chocolate chip cookies and the phrase “Want to play a game?”
